REVISED/3RD EDITION (Dual lands Magic proxies mtg proxy mtg magic the gathering proxy cards)

Release Date: 4/1/94 Set Size: 306 Cards (121 Rates, 95 Uncommons, 75 Commons, 15 Basic Lands) Expansion Symbol: [No expansion symbol; no copyright date on English version. A1994 copyright for French, 1995 copyright for German/Italian] Expansion Code: 3ED Language: English, French, German, Italian Set overview: Revised was the first reprint set to remove certain cards and replace them with ones from expansion sets. The majority of cards removed were for reasons of either power level (the Power Nine) or complexity (Licli, Raging River). Replacement cards came from Ai’abian Nights and Antiquities. This led to the most famous Magic misprint: The Revised Serendib Efreet was accidentally printed with the Ifli-Biff Efreet artwork, and had the wrong color border. All English Revised versions of Serendib Efreet are printed this way, so the misprint carries no additional value beyond the value of the card for play. Non-English Languages Magic quickly became a worldwide sensation! Starting with the Legends edition. Wizards of the Coast began printing Magic cards in other languages. Wizards decided that the first core set of any given language would be printed in Black Bordered — so French, German, and Italian each got a Black-Bordered and Wiite-Bordered printing of 3rd Edition. The abbreviation for these sets is FBB (Foreign Black-Bordered), to distinguish them from Wiite-Bordered sets (FVVB, or Foreign Bordered). The FBB versions of 3rd (and 4th and 9th) Edition are the only Black-Bordered printings of these sets, so they pull a premium with collectors. FBB REVISED Release Date: Late 1994 Set Size: 306 Cards (121 Rares, 95 Uncommons, 75 Commons, 15 Basic Lands) Expansion Symbol: [No expansion symbol; 1994 copyright] Expansion Code: 3ED FBB Languages: French, German. Italian Set overview: This was the inaugural core set for the French, German, and Italian languages. This means that this is the only edition of Revised that appeared in Black Border. This puts a particular value on the Dual Lands, since it is one of only three sets that contains Black Bordered Dual Lands. In addition, the picture and frame on Serendib Efreet was fixed for this printing. Most Valuable Cards The most valuable FBB Revised cards are the ten Dual Lands (Badlands, Bayou, Plateau, Savannah, Scrublands, Taiga, Tropical Island, Tundra, Underground Sea, and Volcanic Island). Revised is the last set to contain these cards, and these ten remain a staple in both tournament and casual play to this day! Revised/3rd Ed & FBB Revised Rare
