Archetype enablers will make their way high on my list, and Tom Bombadil does everything a Saga deck could want. The fact that it only triggers once per turn can be a little frustrating, potentially punishing you for stacking too many sagas, but that and his relatively low statline are about the only real downsides to this jolly fellow.
I am usually down on the five-color goodstuff Commander in any given set, but Tom gets a pass due to the required focus on sagas. While the card type is far from the most powerful, it’s also not at all weak and lets you stack value over time in a way that’s similar to Planeswalker-focused “Superfiends” decks.
